Supervision Session form
AnsweredIf I open a supervision session form on my (trainee) portfolio, I am unable to edit it (even though an edit form button is available).
The supervisor is the only one with permission to edit the form. This delays supervision sessions, and does not let me type up a summary of the supervision session afterwards.
I together with my supervisor Dr Nadeem think that a better system would be to allow the trainee to edit and type in the supervision session - and save it. Then the supervisor can check it and send it through on his portfolio.

Hi Kathleen,
The supervision session form in the Reviews section is designed to allow your supervisor to record evidence of supervision.
If, as the trainee, you wish to record notes on the supervision session you can do this by creating a new activity and typing "Supervision"
This will create an activity using the "Supervision" template that you can edit directly.
This approach allows for both the supervisor and/or the trainee to record the sessions as they see fit.
Hopefully this addresses the issue?

Thanks. I have used the system you suggested in the past. It does not allow me to print a record of separate supervision sessions and is not visible in the ARCP printout (although this has not affected my previous ARCP).
I still think it would be useful to have the trainee able to edit the supervision form directly - then allow the supervisor to finalize it.

Also sorry for the double posting!

I can see why that make make it more convenient, however I think the current setup is intended to gather supervisor feedback directly to encourage engagement, whilst also providing a means for trainees to also record things. I'll discuss this with the project team at the college, and hopefully come back to you with something more definitive.
