At the beginning of each post (or placement) you will have the opportunity to consult with a supervisor about what opportunities a post or placement can offer in terms of meeting the needs of the curriculum you're following. You can use this information to create a Personal Development Plan (PDP).
- Log in to to your account on Portfolio Online.
- Click on the link to your portfolio.
- Go to your PDP page.
- The default view of your PDP page will be 'View as PSPDP'.
- Your current post should be displayed in the drop-down. If your post isn't correct, click on the edit button to edit it.
- If you can't see your post in the drop-down, check that your posts on the Career History page of your portfolio are accurate and have been submitted.
- Select a HLO and click on + New Post Objective.
- If the post, framework & HLO are correct, click on Create New Activity.
- Complete the form with any planned activities and details of the evidence you intend to collect in order to satisfy the HLO. Exemplar PDPs can be found on the RCPsych web page Curricula Documents & Resources.
- Click on Submit or Save as Draft.
- Submitting the form means that others such as your supervisors can see it. You can still edit the form after it has been submitted.
- If you don't want to share your PDP item yet, save it as a draft.
Once you've added a PDP Item to your portfolio, you can map the activities in your portfolio to the curriculum through the PDP you have created for your post. Here's how: Map activities to curricula
