Trainees can allow other people to view their portfolio by granting them access as a supervisor. This gives trainees some control over who can view the information in their portfolio.
To do this a trainee can create a 'supervisor relationship', the supervisor relationship gives read-only access to the contents of the portfolio in question.
Step 1: Click on the 'Portfolio' tab in your trainee account on Portfolio Online.
Step 2: Navigate to the 'Supervisors' section.
When you view your portfolio, a second level of navigation opens allowing you to view different sections of the portfolio, one of these is the supervisors that have access to this portfolio.
Step 3: Create a new Supervisor Relationship.
Above your list of supervisors (if you have any) is an option to add a new supervisor relationship.
Step 4: Specify the type of supervisor you wish to register.
Supervisors can be anyone in a supervisory role including Clinical Supervisors, College Tutors, Training Programme Directors etc.
Step 5: Click on 'Add Supervisor'.
Step 6: Enter your supervisor's email address.
Make sure that you check with your supervisor beforehand to find out which email address they use to log in to Portfolio Online. If you use a different email address then this can make it more difficult for your supervisor, because it will create another account. Your supervisor would then need to contact us to resolve the issue.
Step 7: Click on 'Nominate'.
If the email is already linked to an account then that account will immediately be given access to your portfolio. If the email address is unrecognised we'll send an email inviting the person to create a new account.
