One of the purposes of recording activities or assessments in a portfolio is so that they can be used to meet the requirements of curricula. This can be done by mapping activities to curricula.
Each portfolio on Portfolio Online has a portfolio card; a visualisation that shows a summary of a portfolio to date. Viewing the portfolio card, one can quickly see how much evidence a curriculum has mapped to it.
The example portfolio above belongs to a trainee in psychiatry who has mapped at least 3 activities to each of the 43 available competencies in Core Curriculum 2016 whilst they were in core training. In ST4, they moved to 2022 curricula and have some activities mapped to the Key Capabilities in the General Psychiatry Curriculum.
Those with credential portfolios such as Perinatal Psychiatry or Eating Disorder Psychiatry will have the relevant curricula already in their portfolio.
Regardless of the curricula you are following, the way that you map activities is the same: map an activity to curricula. If you wish to map an activity through your PDP, you'll need to add PDP Items to your portfolio and map PDP items to curricula first.
POtip: Curriculum coverage broken down by training level can be seen on the Folders page of a trainee's portfolio.
