Supervisors can view the portfolios of the trainees they supervise by logging in to their own account. A list of the trainees under a supervisor's supervision can be viewed from the supervisor's dashboard.
Each trainee has their own portfolio card. The portfolio card gives an overview of a trainee's progress.
In the example above, the portfolio card shows that in the CT3 folder, the trainee has 52 activities. 36 out of the 44 competencies have activities mapped to them. The progress bar shows that 7 of the competencies in the Core Psychiatry curriculum have 3 or more activities mapped to them, 9 have 2 and 8 don't have any.
The supervisor can find out more information about the trainee's portfolio by clicking on any of the links on the card or they can initiate an assessment or review from here. Here are some steps a supervisor may want to follow to navigate a trainee's portfolio:
Step1: Click on the trainee's name on the portfolio card.
By clicking on the trainee's name, the supervisor can see the trainee's whole portfolio.
The functions for the supervisor account can still be seen across the top with the functions for the trainee account on the trainee's section of the page.
By navigating through the functions in the trainee account, the supervisor can see the any content the trainee has not marked as private.
Step 2: Click on the Personal Development Plan tab.
The personal development plan shows any current PDP Items the trainee is currently working on.
Supervisors can click on the PDP Item to open it and can comment on PDP items in the comments box to give recorded feedback to the trainee on a PDP item.
Step 3: Click on the Activities tab.
The default view of activities is a list of all activities in chronological order. If a supervisor is looking for a particular activity or group of activities, the supervisor can use the search or filter features.
Supervisors can enter the title of an activity or keyword in the search box, or can use the filters on the left to narrow down their search by fold, type, category etc.
Step 5: Click on View as Curriculum Coverage.
This view of activities shows them against the competencies in a curriculum.
Supervisors can use the filters to narrow down the view. Here, the trainee's CT3 folder has been selected.
Each competency is presented in a list with links to any mapped activities next to them.
Activities can also be viewed as PDP coverage.
Step 4: Click on the Assessments tab.
This view shows the subset of activities which are Work Place Based Assessments (WPBAs)
Step 6: Click on the Reviews tab.
Supervisors can see all completed online reviews here including those from previous placements.
Exam, career history and a list of the trainee's current supervisors can all be viewed by clicking on the relevant tabs.
